The Big-Picture Stuff
The Dish Project operates under Sustainable Concordia, where it has resided since its conception in 2004. Our work focuses on reducing waste in and around Concordia University, as well as exploring, understanding, and educating our community with regard to waste justice issues and waste reduction. We hope to empowering individuals and communities to reconnect with waste and are committed to making Concordia a more sustainable university.
Who’s Behind it All?
The Dish Project employs two coordinators, who manage the operations of the project, coordinate volunteers, and ensure financial transparency.
Volunteers play a key role in the smooth day-to-day operations of the Dish Project, as the project is largely volunteer run. Volunteers prepare orders, organize the dish room, and the handle pick-ups and drop-offs of orders. Volunteers in addition, take part in other aspects of the project including outreach, action planning, finances, and purchasing. These tasks are taken on at the discretion of the volunteer.
